Only in Vegas! They are banning grass. Not the kind some smoke, but the grass that feels good under your feet on a hot summer day...the grass you mow. Why would they do that. Well, A new Nevada law will outlaw about 31% of the grass in Las Vegas to conserve water during a drought that’s drying up the Colorado River.
The ban targets "non-functional turf." Grass that no one uses at office parks, in street medians and at entrances to housing developments. It doesn't include single-family homes, parks and golf courses.
