Dolly Parton Is Recording Music To Release After Her Death

Dolly Parton has a plan when it comes to creating an everlasting musical legacy.

The country singer recently opened up about her faith and how she's preparing for the inevitable event of her death. She reveals her plans to leave behind music that'll be available for producers to get creative with.

"For me, as far as what I hope my music will be left behind, I hope that it will always live," she says in a recent interview. "I would like to think that I've left some good pieces of music. And I think as long as time lasts, people will be dong music all kinds of different ways."

She continues, "I’ve got hundreds, hundreds, even thousands of songs, a big part of them have never even been recorded. There’s enough stuff to go on forever with my music, to do compilation albums, to do new and original stuff. I am purposely trying to put songs down for that very purpose, to have a click track and my vocals where any arrangement could be done.”

Parton goes on to explain that the way she's preparing the music will allow future producers and songwriters the freedom to use and arrange her vocals however they please.

"Any producer anywhere in the world, when I’m gone, they could take my songs just the click track and my vocal and build a complete arrangement around that, any style," she says. "So that will go on forever. I'm one of those people that believe in being prepared. I don't want to ever leave my stuff in the same shape like Prince or Aretha [Franklin], or anybody that don't plan ahead with that."

There's no doubt that Parton's music will continue to affect many lives for generations to come.
