Dan + Shay finally made an announcement on Thursday morning (October 17) that they’ve been teasing for about a decade.

Longtime fans of the award-winning duo might have already guessed that Dan + Shay would finally announce a holiday record when Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney confirmed they’d reveal something on Thursday at 9 a.m. CT; however, Smyers and Mooney surprised many fans when they shared that their very first Christmas effort is a double album. The massive collection is titled after the festive single they released in 2021, “Officially Christmas.”

It’s Officially Christmas: The Double Album is a 21-song collection of brand new originals and our take on classics that you already know and love,” Dan + Shay said. “This project has been a decade in the making, and we are so proud of every single note. We truly leaned into our love for the holiday season and think we found some magic in these songs. Our hope is that you are able to enjoy + share that same magic with your loved ones for years to come. As always, thank you for continuing to believe in us and allowing us to live our dream. We’re grateful for you, and we’re grateful for Christmas! 🎄”

Previously-released Dan + Shay holiday singles appearing on It’s Officially Christmas: The Double Album include “Officially Christmas,” “Take Me Home For Christmas” and “Holiday Party.” The duo also include their renditions of “It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year,” “Let It Snow,” “Winter Wonderland,” “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” and other classics.

Last month, Dan + Shay dropped a hint that this year is the year they finally release a Christmas album. They shared a video on Instagram that offered a glimpse of a recording studio decorated with colorful, glowing lights and a Christmas tree in the background. The audio offered a sneak peek of Dan + Shay’s take on “The Christmas Song.” It’s Officially Christmas: The Double Album is Dan + Shay’s latest record since they released Bigger Houses last year. That 12-track project included “Save Me The Trouble,” “Heartbreak On The Map,” “Always Gonna Be,” “We Should Get Married,” “Neon Cowgirl” and more.

“Even though it’s still October, you don’t have to wait long because it will be available everywhere TONIGHT at 11 PM CT,” Dan + Shay confirmed on Thursday morning. Until then, listen to some of the duo’s previously-released holiday singles again below.
