Luke Bryan delivered a heartfelt performance on the American Idol stage during the showâs âSongs of Faithâ episode to observe Easter on Sunday (April 20).
The five-time Entertainer of the Year winner performed âJesus âBout My Kids,â one of 14 tracks that appeared on his latest studio record, Mind Of A Country Boy. Songwriters Jeff Hyde, Tucker Beathard, Ben Stennis and Brad Rempel teamed up to write the ballad that offers a âpowerful messageâ about âfaith and fatherhood,â Idol noted while sharing a clip of Bryanâs performance. The country starâs fellow judges â Lionel Richie and Carrie Underwood, serving as a first-time judge 20 years after she won the show in 2005 â plus first-ever artist in residence Jelly Roll, and others also performed on American Idol on Sunday evening.
Bryan said in a previous interview with iHeartCountry that Mind Of A Country Boy is âa reflection of where Iâm at in my life right now.â The album also included the title track, âLove You, Miss You, Mean It,â âCountry Song Came On,â âCountry On,â and more. Bryan is getting ready to kick off his first-ever West Coast âFarm Tourâ dates next month. Heâll bring his âFarm Tourâ to the Midwest this fall. In between those dates, the Georgia-born country star will hit the road on his âCountry Song Came On Tour.â Up-and-coming artists joining the tour on select dates include George Birge, Avery Anna, Ashland Craft, Mae Estes, Cole Goodwin, Braxton Keith, Randall King, Vincent Mason, Drake Milligan, Adrien Nunez and Owen Riegling. DJ Rock will join all shows, per a previously-issued press release. See those tour dates below.
