Dolly Parton Gets ‘Tricked’ Into Promoting Ryan Reynolds’ Docuseries
I mean, you know Ryan Reynolds is the ultimate prankster, and he and Rob McElhenney conned Dolly Parton into advertising “Welcome to Wrexham.” In a fun exchange between Dolly, Ryan, and his crew, Parton begins the video by discussing her latest Welsh ancestral discovery.
“I was tickled to learn that, and I was even more tickled when I received a lovely gift from the Welsh Board of Tourism and Docudramas," she starts.
A scarf and remarks about Wales from Wrexham Association Football Club were given to the "9 to 5" singer. The "words" were a docuseries advertising. "All episodes of Welcome to Wrexham are now streaming," she begins reading before catching on to what's really happening. When the screen splits in three, Reynolds and McElhenney join the chat and admit their plan to persuade her to promote their movie. Parton recognizes McElhenney but hilariously denies knowing the other guy. “Welcome to Wrexham” is the charming tale of Reynolds and McElhenney's purchase of Wrexham AFC. One of the world's oldest professional football clubs. The series chronicles the team's and actors' franchise management.
Ryan Reynolds is hilarious and Dolly is such a great sport! When was the last time you were pranked? Or, are you the prankster?
